About the Author
Gabriel Snowboy is a member of the Cree Nation of Chisasibi, a community located in the vast territory of Eeyou Istchee at the end of the road in northern Quebec. Galactic Holiday: The North Pole Awakens
Fire has consumed the North Pole, and Santa Claus has mysteriously disappeared; the magic of Christmas is starting to fracture. What once used to be the happiest and most magical place on earth is now a land of shadows, secrets, and ancient rivalries that have risen from the snow to fight.
Right in the middle of the turmoil is Duke, a little boy raised by Santa and Mrs. Claus, who very soon learns that what he thought was his life in the North Pole was simply a small part of a great epic. With the guidance of Frosty the Snowman and a bunch of unlikely allies, the kid is plunged into a very brutal truth: Christmas magic isn’t only about presents, but it is a power born of belief, restraint, and sacrifice.
As Duke trains to master the gifts once held by Santa himself, the Blade of Joy and the legendary Speed of Santa, he must also confront a far more dangerous enemy than darkness alone. Gabriel, the long-forgotten brother of Santa, is back. He has become so twisted in his envy and desire for power that he wants to corrupt the Christmas magic and claim Duke for himself.
Duke moves through trials of fire and ice, deception and death, and he learns that strength without restraint leads to ruin and that the greatest power of all is choosing hope when vengeance feels easier.
Galactic Holiday: The North Pole Awakens is a daring new version of the Christmas mythology. This is a tale of legacy, faith, and the cost of carrying the light when the world is in the dark. It is a story that will appeal to the fantasy lover looking for epic encounters, emotional depth, and seasonal stories with heart and consequence.
